We had an amazing time on our trip! It was great staying close to the nine public baths, and we enjoyed delicious coffee every morning from the restaurant. Make sure to check out the monkey park and visit the local onsens while you're there!

The Japanese-style room features traditional sliding doors and an altar, combined with modern comforts like air conditioning. The onsen experience is remarkable, particularly the Men's Momoyama-buro, a grand indoor pool and sauna, offering a tranquil bath in stunning surroundings.

The building is drafty and cold, especially during winter months, making it necessary to keep the heater running constantly, with temperatures still not exceeding 17C. Some floors lack hot water at taps for washing, requiring a hot water dispenser to mix with tap water. Additionally, the ladies' toilet's location on the first floor can be inconvenient for those staying on the third floor.

Why didn't I try this sooner?

Absolutely loved my experience! The spacious traditional Japanese room was comfortable, and the staff were incredibly kind. I especially appreciated the punctual shuttle service to the nearby monkey park. With access to stunning onsens and delightful dining, this charming stay exceeded my expectations. Truly a memorable adventure in Japan!

I loved how helpful the staff were, providing us with tips on local restaurants and attractions, like the fantastic monkey park, which is just under 3 km away, making our city strolls even more enjoyable as we explored the beautiful nearby parks and temples.

i had a fantastic stay at shibu onsen koishiya ryokan! the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with amazing coffee and delicious meals. the free shuttle service to the snow monkey park was a big plus that exceeded my expectations during this trip.

Koishiya Ryokan became a highlight of my trip to Japan. The staff went out of their way to help me, allowing me to store my luggage while I visited the nearby monkey park. They provided a shuttle service to both the train station and onsens, making everything hassle-free. I tried the private outdoor onsen, and the experience of being delivered to my room in my yukata was delightful. The breakfasts, including some delicious baguettes, were fresh and satisfying. However, while the shared bathrooms were generally clean, there were occasional waits that could have been avoided. I found the futon beds to be quite firm, which might not be for everyone. Still, the cozy atmosphere and the charm of the ryokan made it a memorable stay. Definitely felt connected to the local culture, especially donning the yukata and exploring the onsens.
